Before taking that flight or before hitting the road, it is highly recommended that you bring a physical map of Yosemite National Park along with any printed documents, references, reservations and important phone numbers. With the secluded nature of the National Park, cellular and data reception is not the best and can cut in and out along the way. Having hard copies of maps and any important documents can be helpful on your trip just incase you won't be to able access your smartphone data.

TRAVELING TO YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK
Yosemite National Park is one of the most popular places to visit in the world and it will be the peak of the Summer tourist season during our Wedding. We appreciate your attendance and effort to make it to such a destination. Below are things to know in preparation to help make your trip a bit easier. The information provided is just a small overview to help plan and coordinate your trip in advance.

DRIVING INTO "YOSEMITE VALLEY"
Yosemite National Park is known for its naturally preserved environment making it one of the few places left on Earth that are untouched by human development. There are a limited amount of roads which requires a bit of driving through mountainous terrains. Once you arrive to the entrance gates, you will still need to travel through the park in order to get to the Wedding location known as "Yosemite Valley". Below is some top line information to help plan for your journey through some of the most amazing scenic views in the world.
VEHICLES: A Sport Utility Vehicle, Van, Truck, RV or Mid to High horse powered automobile are suggested for the terrain
*Low horse powered Hybrids such as a Prius will have a difficult time with a full pack of passengers during the hot summer.
BRAKES: Due to the inclines and declines of the roads, it is suggested that you make sure you have brakes that are in good order if driving a personal vehicle. The heat in high altitudes can wear on your brakes during the sudden changes in inclines vs. declines.
TIME: Plan your drive time wisely. During Yosemite's busiest season of the year, you will want to schedule your departure with as much advance added time as possible. Traffic can get heavy once you get near the park as tourists and campers will be arriving from all around the world. We highly suggest arriving at least the day before the wedding Friday June 9th.
PARK ENTRANCE TOLL: Non-commercial car, SUV, pickup truck, RV, or van with 15 or fewer passenger seats is
$30 per vehicle. Each entrance fee entitles you to a unlimited pass for in and out access from the park 24 hours a day
for 7 days. Please research for additional fees for motorcycles, trailers, bicycles and misc. recreational vehicles.
GAS STATIONS: 2 gas stations in Yosemite National Park / 1 in El Portal / 1 in the Wawona area / 1 in the Groveland area. There are gas stations in the surrounding towns near the entrances of the park as we suggest filling up before entering the Yosemite Valley.
